Sony Erricson

Posted: December 14, 2007 in mobile, phone, virgin

In regards to the post earlier in the year about the Sony Erricson K800i. I never actually got the phone, thanks to equifax deciding they’ve forgotten who i am and therefore not letting me pass a credit check. So i had to give up with the pipe dream, and wait for another day. (well really all i had to do was fax equifax some bills and details, but this felt like too much hassle).

That was April, and in October i had still managed with a cracked screen. Then at one great party, i woke up to find the screen even more cracked. Again i coped for a couple of weeks, and then to Virgin. I still hadn’t sorted out equifax, and once again couldn’t get on to a contract, so i gave in and payed the £70 for a pay as you go.

I’ve been very chuffed with it since, it indeed has a lovely interface to use. But i feel let down with the camera. I dont believe its as good as it was hyped up to be, or as good as i remeber on my ex-s phone. The flash is pretty poor, and this lets it down the most. But i would say its very good for its price, and I’m quite happy with it. If i wasnt outstanding quality pics, thats what a digi cam for. This still takes sweet pictures in the moment. The best pictures are without a flash, and when nothing moves.

All the photos of the Xmas Knitting party were taken with this phone. They had to be brightened up a little, and leave a bit to be desired.

Yet i found pics like the following turned out really well:

Update : 01 Feb 08

Ok its all down to the fact it has a crappy flash..even tho it was said to be one of the best (in its range). God i want a new digi cam to replace the phone…but i just got an ipod…time to save.

My ex- boyfriend has this phone and i have found it amazing to use. He first selected it for the fact that it has a stunning 3.2 mega pixel camera with a high quality flash. It also takes great videos and plays mp3s. It has a suite of software that allows picture editing and music creation.

Apart from the fact that it has everything you could need, it actually works well.

The best part for me is that the interface is stunning. It is really nice to use, one of the best i have ever had a chance to use.

So with my new job, and the fact that my current Motorola is behaving badly, like every motorola i have owned, i decided to have an upgrade and switch to contract.

Being very happy with the virgin service i have had with my current phone, i wish’d to stick with them. The website was well structured in letting me decided what would be the best monthly plan, as well as what phones i could have on this. There were many phones i could have gotton free of charge, but some were ones that are known to have bad interfaces, or hardware, and others i havent had a chance to use and am a bit wary of. I saw this one at about £50 and decided it would be the best choice. I choose a £25 a month package which includes 300 mins and 300 texts. I have heard of better deals, but to be honest im pushing it to send 200 texts, and i dont call that much – but would like to to save my landline bill.

After selecting this option, it then asekd me when i wanted it delivered! I had a choice! I could have got it the next day, but i knew i wouldnt be in, and again i knew i wouldnt be in all week, so i chose to have it delivered the next saturday between 8am-12. I think this is the best delivery options i have come accross since Tesco. Thanks Virgin.

Now i jsut have to wait for it to be delivered.
