About Me
Intro
My name is Rowan Evenstar, known as Zenrhe in the virtual world. I live and work in Aberdeen, Scotland. Attempting to be a web developer as it has always been my passion, i’m just getting sidetracked at the moment while I catch up with everything i missed while i was studying for 5 yrs. I currently work as a temp doign basic admin at various companies, because its a lot easier, lesss scary, and pays well than actually stepping into the real world of jobs.
I’m a computer enthusiast, which used to be a good enough description…but now that means so many things. Ive seen the word ’socialite’ going around, not sure if that suites me or not. Basically i love the web, and try to be as plugged in as possible.
I have a passion for surfing around and seeing the new web technologies and such like are about. I’m desperately trying to get into Blogging and not being as successful as i wanted. (I blame my discovery of Twitter and following all the ppl discovered through TWIT and listening to a multitude of Podcasts).
My aim is to be coding lovely web 2.0 pages, i just love having my head buried in code! I’m just refreshing the basic skills of XHTML and CSS before i go past content and into interactivity.
Basically i just need to keep doing stuff, and not worrying about it being a mess..or ill never get anything done!
My History
Locations
I was born in Dundee, Scotland(and the common response to that is ‘haha poor you’) back in 1984. After a year i moved down to Leeds in England (not much memory of my time down there) and then back to Scotland in 1990 to Govanhill, Glasgow for about 3 years. Popped to Newton Mearns, outskirts of Glasgow for a year, and then settled in the lovely countryside in Darvel, Ayrshire for 5 years. I eventually moved to the rural town Kemnay, Aberdeenshire and from here i moved to Aberdeen itself.
I have felt at home in Aberdeen now for about 7 years and am quite happy here (which is something you don’t ever hear anyone say). I’m looking to stay here for a few more years, and after that i have no idea. But after living in nearly 20 houses, it’s nice not to have to consider moving for a long time. I often visit Glasgow, where most of my family are, and occasionally Edinburgh. But these large cities scare me a bit. Ive found i quite like Dundee, and after visiting Blackpool, i feel i may actually get over my fear of leaving Aberdeen.
Education
I have a BSc in Computing for Internet & Multimedia from The Robert Gordon University.
Any more education i recieve will all be my own work from online resources, I’m not giving anymore of my time to educational bodies. i.e. If i had spent the last 5 years watching dreamweaver tutorials and the like..well…there’s a time and a place for a rant, and it inst here and now.
